Plumbing & Heating Engineer

Main function of job (in addition to these functions employees are required to carry out such other duties as may be reasonably required):

To carry out all aspects of heating and plumbing related installation, breakdown, maintenance and servicing work to meet the needs of the company.


Main duties:


  1. Carry out servicing, breakdown and maintenance work on all types of gas, boiler, plumbing and heating systems.
  2. Carry out all aspects of gas, boiler, plumbing and heating installation work as required.
  3. Carry out Landlord gas safety inspections.
  4. Carry out heating and plumbing inspections for contract suitability.
  5. Carry out heating related site surveys and prepare specifications for surveyors as required.
  6. Accept responsibility for your allocated standby duty to ensure coverage at all times.
  7. Carry out all work to the highest professional standards in compliance with all gas, water and building regulations.
  8. Mentor, train and assist in apprentice’s development as required.
  9. Provide and maintain all hand tools as required by your role.
  10. Be fully available at all times by telephone during your working hour unless governed by law.
  11. Ensure all aspect of the companies Health & Safety policy is adopted at all times.
  12. Accept responsibility for hitting all performance targets as set by your line manager.
  13. Ensure all aspects of your gas industry qualifications are kept in date.
  14. Ensure all paperwork including parts orders, timesheet, quotations and PDA data is kept up to date on a daily basis.
  15. Actively seek to upsell, cross sell and promote all aspect of the company’s sales portfolio when opportunities arise.
  16. Carry out all other reasonable instructions as requested

Supervisory responsibilities / position in structure:

To assist in the development of apprentices and junior engineers


Working conditions:

80/20 Site based in the South East and all other condition’s as per Employment contract.





Domestic Heating Engineer

45 Hours per week - Monday to Friday, 7:30 to 17:30

SES Home Services is a very successful Plumbing and Heating Company, offering a wide range of services to the domestic market. Our services include Plumbing and Heating maintenance and installations, External Plumbing services (water supply pipes) and Drainage maintenance.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Domestic Heating Engineer to join our highly successful heating department in servicing, installation and repair of domestic boilers, heating systems and gas appliances in domestic properties. Further to this you will carry out safety inspections and carry out heating related site surveys. The role will be based around servicing, breakdown and repair work, both emergency response and routine planned repairs

Our ideal candidate will have worked in a similar role previously and have a good knowledge of domestic heating systems. You will hold a relevant qualification in plumbing and heating, such as City & Guilds Level 3 (or equivalent) and hold a Gas safe CCN1 and core elements accreditation.

Due to the nature of the role a full UK driving licence and you will need to own a personal tool kit.

We are welcoming applications from individuals with a flexible approach to working hours as you will be required to provide standby cover on a rota’d basis.

Customer Services Advisor

Main function of job (in addition to these functions employees are required to carry out such other duties as may be reasonably required):

  1. Speaking to customers on the telephone to provide advice and information relating to the services we provide, including both inbound and outbound call handling
  2. Handle calls to schedule work for mobile engineers across all departments, with outbound calls to arrange second phase work
  3. Promotion of sales opportunities with existing customers, to include outbound calls to pursue open quotes.
  4. Liaison with Wholesalers regarding billing and operational customer issues
  5. Proactively handle complaints received by various channels in the first instance, log and record in line with company process


Main duties:

  1. Respond to enquiries on all aspects of various services provided to customers, including insurance claims, chargeable work, water and waste water account enquiries 
  2. Provide direct advice to customers about the billing and collection of water, wastewater and service charges
  3. Provide advice to customers about leakage, high consumption, and the consistency and quality of the wholesale service.
  4. Communicate with Wholesalers to resolve customer queries relating to billing and operational issues.
  5. Support upselling and cross-selling opportunities with existing customers
  6. Accurately capture and record all data, including customer permissions and ensure that all customer data is kept up to date
  7. Liaison with 3rd party companies and contractors to ensure all work is completed within appropriate timescales


Working conditions:

Office based call-centre environment with continual customer contact throughout the day.
